Rónán O’Snodaigh and Myles O’Reilly – Rónán O’Snodaigh is a giant in the world of Irish folk and world music. He is the charismatic frontman of the legendary world music band Kíla, a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and virtuoso on the Irish bodhran drum. As a duo, Rónán O’Snodaigh and Myles O’Reilly have created a unique sound with their blend of folk, world music, and more modern soundscapes.

Groupa – Groupa is one of the absolute supergroups of the folk music genre and has been at the forefront of progressive Nordic folk music since 1981. Through its characteristic blend of older melodies, free improvisation, new compositions, and imaginative instrumentation, the group has influenced an entire generation of musicians.

232 Strings – With hundreds of strings—and a few cowhorns—232 Strings creates a unique and sparkling instrumental sound where folk tones and improvisation blend, giving rise to new sonic worlds. The musicians behind 232 Strings are Frida Höfling (violin, cowhorn, and vocals) and Emma Engström (piano and vocals)

Saturday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m.

Edo Bumba – As a singer, guitarist, composer, and producer, Edo Bumba has produced and released hundreds of albums in his former homeland, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, featuring songs that have made their mark on Congolese music history. With his groups Edo Bumba Band and Amani, he has collaborated with many of Sweden’s leading artists, including Louise Hoffsten, Triple and Touch, Mikael Wiehe, Mikael Rickfors, Måns Selmerlöv, Regina Lund, Timbuktu, and John Ludvig.

Uroish – Uroish is difficult to even describe in words. It must be experienced. Uroish is a sound, a voice, a call to action, a map, and a movement. The music sets memories of pivotal moments to sound—experiences of war, revolutions, happiness, pain, and liminality. Here you’ll hear soundscapes that play with and evolve Persian pop.

Kaparchi – Kaparchi was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Kaparchi enjoys experiencing new cultures and finds freedom in being able to express his culture through music and dance. He’s traveling from Stockholm to join us in Skara to introduce us to dancehall music!

Rashid & Berlin – Since meeting in 2015, Roudi Rashid (Kurdish sitar) and Staffan Berlin (guitar and bodhran) have not only developed a friendship but also their very own blend of sounds from the Middle East and Scandinavia.
